Way of Peace & Happiness

Where is the way to peace, happiness, love, joy, contentment and the other good things that we want to experience in our life?

Lets begin our journey in the Bible and see what it says:

Proverbs 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof [are] the ways of death.

So there is a way, or a direction that we can take, which seems right to us, but it will end in unhappiness and ultimately death. So according to this verse, if there is a way that leads to death, there must also be a way that leads to life

Jeremiah 21:8 Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.

What does this verse say?.... two things have been set before us, the way of life, and the way of death, a way of peace and happiness and a way that leads to misery and death. The question is WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO to experience the way of life? I don't want to go the way that leads to death! What is the right way???

Listen to what Bible says:

Proverbs 8:20 I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:

So if we want to go the right way (the way of righteousness) we must have God leading us. Because Jesus is the one that leads in the right way, the way of life, the way of peace and happiness.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life

Jesus is the way! and when we follow Him we will be walking in the right way.

So does Jesus give us peace? and happiness? Lets have a look:

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Please bear with me and read this next verse as well:

Ephesians 5:9 For the fruit of the Spirit [is] in all goodness and righteousness and truth

But what does this have to do with the way? Linking these texts together we see that: Jesus said "I am the way" and "I lead in the way of righteousness" and that "The Fruit of the spirit is all goodness and righteousness".

So through these verses we see that if Jesus leads us, He will bring about in our lives the beautiful fruit of the Spirit. The way of Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering or Patience, Meekness etc...

So do you want to follow Jesus? He doesn't promise that it will be an easy life, there will still be hard times and trials that we will have to endure and overcome, but He does promise that if we follow Him we will have Joy and perfect peace no matter what happens to us.

The Bible says:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

If we believe in Jesus we will not perish, or die, or walk in the way that leads to death, But we will have everlasting or eternal life.

We need to believe in Jesus to the point of obeidience because the Bible says that the devil believes, but thats not going to save him! and the devil is not living in the way of life. Jesus said "if ye love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15). So if we truly want to follow Jesus, we need to read the Bible, to believe in Him and to ask Him to help us to obey.

In summary:

1. We need to follow the right way that leads to life, peace and joy
2. Jesus is the way that leads to righteousness
3. Jesus will lead us in the Fruit of the Spirit which are Love, Joy, Peace etc...
4. We need to belive in Jesus and to follow and obey Him
